2nd Annual Spokane Arts Costume Ball + Awards Party – October 30, 2015

Last Friday night was the 2nd Annual Spokane Arts Costume Ball + Awards party which had a Dada inspired theme.

From the moment I entered the party, to the moment I left, I was bowled over by people’s ingenuity with their costumes…

The Spokane Arts Costume Ball + Awards party was wonderful and I am looking forward to next year’s event!

Posted below are photos of the costume that I made for the event. I spent probably 20-30 hours working on my costume. My ensemble was named after Man Ray’s Object To Be Destroyed. Man Ray created the artwork in 1923 and the work was destroyed in 1957. I was going to destroy my cape at 10:00 p.m. and give each of the party goers a piece of it (there were 108 pieces total). 10:00 came and the party had dwindled so I decided not to cut up the cape and took it home with me. I intend to destroy the cape eventually- it may be in a month or it may be in 34 years.
