SPOKANERRIFIC ROADTRIP – PORTLAND PART V – Purrington’s Cat Lounge

Purringtons Cat Lounge is the purr-fect place to go if you are fond of felines!

Purringtons is one of only a handful of cat lounges in the USA. Cat lounges got their start in Japan, the land of all things cute!

At Purringtons I met my friend Carye Bye, a local printmaker of Red Bat Press, museum tours, and bike ride leader (Carye is leaving Portland for San Antonio, read her farewell letter to Portland here).

In the lobby of the cat lounge there is a gift store where you can buy cat themed merchandise, a cafe where you can buy snacks and beverages for yourself.

Something that is great about Purringtons is that they really care about the cats in their cat lounge. All of the cats are adoptable, and there are rules that everyone must follow when in the lounge to ensure the safety and well being of the cats.

Purringtons is located at 3529 NE MLK.

  1. This whole post is so adorable! I absolutely didn’t know that there is a cat lounge in Portland. I just checked their website and saw that they do yoga with cats sessions too, awesome! Thank your for posting about this place, I definitely want to visit soon.
