Echo: A Visual History of Anti-Semitism by Melanie Lieb Taylor at the Saranac Art Projects

The June First Friday opening of Melanie Lieb Taylor’s show, “Echo: A Visual History of Anti-Semitism”, at the Saranac Art Projects occurred on a sunny beautiful day. People, not knowing what the show was about, would walk through the door and admire how beautiful the people made of real white flowers were. When people realized what the show was about, they were hit by the painful premise of the flower people and all the other artworks, they quieted down and became more mindful and attentive to all they were taking in. Melanie’s paintings and sculptures bring up questions such as How did such cruelty exist in the world? How is it that it still exists today in this world? I will let you quietly contemplate this while you look at the photos, and I highly encourage you to attend the show and contemplate the works first hand…
